The Innocence of Children

How can a child look at little black ants crawling up and down the bark of a tree and become so fascinated?

There was a Man and a Woman.  And there were ex-wives and ex-husbands.  And there were friends and family giving the Man and Woman their advice on how the world should be.  There were work conflicts and roommates with different points of view and there were bills to be paid.

Devotion

She was probably twenty-years old.  Five foot, 9 inches tall with dirty brown, shoulder-length hair.  Her wheelchair was nothing special, pretty much run-of-the-mill as far as handicapped accessories go.  It was 95 degrees outside this afternoon and she was wearing long pants.  For a twenty year old, she wasn’t making much of a fashion statement, but she was sporting some pretty cool-looking Nike’s.
